The latest Sage Intacct quarterly release is here to make sure you are getting the best possible experience from your cloud finance software. The updates do not require any action on your part and are automatic. In this blog, we have included some of our favourite enhancements and features from the latest release, which was rolled out May 13th 2022. Let’s get stuck in!

Dunning Notice Support in Accounts Receivable

We’ve been waiting for collections functionality as part of the core software and it’s here! You can now manage your Accounts Receivable aged debt directly from inside Sage Intacct with dunning notices.

Dunning is the process of communicating with customers to collect overdue balances. The notices are customisable based on levels so you can tailor the content based on the age and value of debt. These levels can be used to apply filters to your data when running the notices.

You will need to enable dunning notices and set up your templates before utilising them. Speak to your support team about how to do this but also see the full set-up article here

Receive payments enhancements

So you’re now got three nice little shortcuts when you receive payments – helpful when processing payments but have yet to enter the corresponding journal, advance or adjustment.

  • Create journal entry

VAT tax defaults in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable

Save time by setting a default tax detail for your Supplier or Customer contacts. When transactions with taxable line items are associated with that contact, Sage applies the contact’s default tax details, eliminating the need for manual data entry.

Simplify tax calculation in your VAT or GST transactions with default tax details in the following applications:

Accounts Payable

  • AP purchase invoices
  • Recurring purchase invoices
  • Payment adjustments

  • Invoices

Cash Management – Streamline Reconciliations with Creation Rules

You can now add a new type of rule that creates journal entry transactions in Sage Intacct to match incoming bank transactions. This saves you time and eliminates manual data entry processes. For example, you might want to create journal entries for bank fees and daily deposits automatically.

You set up creation rules on the Rule page. Creation rules analyse bank transaction data and create a matching journal entry within Sage Intacct for reconciliation. Currently, you can only use creation rules to create journal entries but look forward to more functionality in the future!

Audit History report updates

Managing and understanding changes to your accounts data is important to all companies. Sage Intacct already offers two standard ways of tracking changes – The standard and Advanced Audit trails, but also the Audit History report.

In case you aren’t using these functions already, the Standard Audit trail tracks changes to records and transactions in Intacct. The Advanced trail is an additional chargeable module, it tracks changes and access to personal data stored in the Customer, Supplier and Contacts objects.

The Audit History report tracks information about changes made to your records and transactions in Sage Intacct, including who made the change, and when the change occurred. With the latest release, Sage has added the ability to include before and after columns to show what changed on a record. For example, if the field Term was previously Net 30, and then was changed to Net 60, you would see this represented in the audit trail:

Now you can add the field name, and before and after fields to the Audit History report, which allows you to see the changes made on your records. Super helpful and easy for those needing to meet audit and compliance controls.

Summary header for suppliers

At the top of supplier records, you will now see a new summary header to find key supplier information including the last dates in which an AP purchase invoice or payment was created for the supplier in Intacct. This is especially helpful when you want to see which suppliers have not had any transaction activity for a while.

You can add the fields Last bill created on and Last payment sent on to a custom view to filter and sort on these values.

New Sage Branding

You may have noticed the new Sage branding to create consistency across all products. What do you think?

  • Simpler sign in
    The new sign-in screen has less noise so you can sign in and get straight to work
  • New logo and colours
    There’s a new logo and new colours in the header and footer
  • Customise your header
    Customise the colour of your header to a colour that works best with your company logo.
