Are you a Sage 200 user and need an eCommerce site that is able to feed into your Sage system? Or are you already using the Magento platform and need to integrate with your Sage 200 software? Well, we are hoping the following will help you make an informed decision about the most suitable integration and what benefits it can bring to your company.

What is Magento?

Magento is an easily accessible platform which can be used to quickly create an ecommerce website. Magento Commerce is owned by Adobe and used by hundreds of thousands of businesses around the world, including Nestle Nespresso, Ford, and Fred Perry. An online store can be developed to managed customers, orders, invoices, and a lot more.

Why choose Magento?

The Magento platform allows simple development to produce a very professional feel. It will allow you to manage your inventory, client purchases and offers a wide variety of payment options. The reporting and analysis tools enable store owners to gain valuable insights into their sales and make more informed decisions.

The scalability of the product means that as you grow as a company, Magento will continue to meet your business’s needs, without additional costs. The secure Magento API (Application Programming Interfaces) allows us at itas to create a smooth integration between the platform and Sage 200, with instance access to all your eCommerce Data.

What are the benefits of the Sage 200 & Magento integration?

Having an integration between Sage 200 and Magento removes the need for repetitive data entry and keeps both systems up to date. A Sage 200 & Magento integration can be bi-directional meaning that it is more than just an import & export of data but rather a synchronisation of information. Shortly after an order has been made on your Magento website, the information can appear in Sage 200 as sale.

A robust Magento Integration with Sage 200 can ensure that your customer accounts stay in sync, and it can maintain stock levels across both systems. The integration can also be configured to notify you and your colleagues of certain events, such as new customer account, low stock levels or an on-hold client who has placed an order.

The integration can continue working even after you and your co-workers have finished for the day, as orders can be processed outside of office hours. This means that information can be automatically sent onto a 3rd party company, such as a distribution partner, who can be despatching the order almost instantly. Then customer notifications and invoices could be sent out automatically, all before you are back at work the following day.

How do we integrate Sage 200 & Magento?

We build our Sage 200integrations using middleware, in this instance BPA Platform by Codeless Platforms which we talk more about in a moment. The idea is that either on a schedule, say every 15 minutes for example or an event happening, such as a new order being placed, a task will be triggered.  Using secure connections, the tasks can communicate with both systems to carry out the necessary steps. This could be importing a new Magento order into Sage 200 or updating the website stock levels with levels in Sage 200. Sitting between the two platforms, we can configure the tasks to do any necessary data manipulation, such as format delivery addresses, or add additional detail, like recording payment methods or delivery options.

We use BPA Platform by Codeless Platforms for many of our integrations, especially with Sage 200 as we make use of the ready built Sage 200 connector. BPA Platform also contains hundreds of other connectors, including one for Magento. This means that we can make all integrations robust and efficient.
